Position : Geoscience Applications Specialist
Location : Remote | Schedule : 5 working days (8-hrs day shifts), 2 weekly offs
We are seeking a skilled Geoscience Applications Specialist to support and optimize the deployment, configuration, and performance of critical subsurface interpretation and analysis software. This role bridges geoscience applications, data workflows, and IT infrastructure, ensuring that software and systems run smoothly and efficiently for geoscience teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Install, configure, and maintain geoscience software including Petra, Kingdom, and other exploration and production (E&P) applications.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure reliable application performance.
Understand and work with a variety of geoscience data formats (e.g., well logs, seismic, production, geological models).
Design, develop, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines between multiple applications and databases to streamline workflows and improve data accessibility.
Manage and monitor software licensing, ensuring compliance with vendor agreements and optimizing usage across the organization.
Provide reporting and recommendations on license allocation and renewals.
Assess and recommend hardware requirements to support geoscience software applications.
Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to architect and support hardware configurations (servers, workstations, storage, HPC clusters) that maximize performance and scalability.
Benchmark and tune systems to improve efficiency and reliability of geoscience workflows.
Partner with geoscientists, data managers, and IT to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Provide training, documentation, and end-user support to improve adoption and productivity.
