Audit Manager - Client Service and Risk Advisory
Job Description :
We are seeking a high-caliber, result-driven Statutory Audit Manager with 2-7 years of post-qualification experience to join our Mumbai office.
This is a critical leadership role that combines technical audit expertise with significant client relationship management, strategic risk advisory, and business development responsibilities.
The Manager will serve as a Trusted Business Advisor to clients' senior management, demonstrating deep commercial acumen and technical competence, particularly in complex sectors like telecommunications.
The successful candidate will be pivotal in leading and managing large-scale audit engagements while actively contributing to the firm's growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities :
- Audit Engagement Leadership and Planning : Take the lead role in the execution of the full audit service lifecycle.
- Coordinate and manage the planning phase of complex statutory audit assignments, defining the scope, resource allocation, and strategy with guidance from the Partner.
- Client Relationship Management and Networking : Create and proactively manage strong, independent relationships with clients' senior management and key stakeholders, positioning the firm as a trusted advisor and ensuring high client satisfaction.
- Commercial Acumen and Strategic Advisory : Provide clear, impactful perspectives to clients on emerging practices, local and global market trends, and regulatory changes relevant to their operations, translating technical findings into strategic business advice.
- Technical Competence and Judgment : Demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge and professional judgment in applying auditing standards (e.g., IFRS / Ind AS, GAAS) and regulatory requirements.
- Develop well-reasoned, thoroughly researched arguments to address complex client issues.
- Sector Expertise and Specialization : Demonstrate and apply deep technical expertise in auditing specialized industries, specifically possessing substantial knowledge in auditing telecom companies and their unique regulatory and accounting frameworks.
- Business Development and Profitability : Actively support the firm's growth by identifying and generating additional work from existing clients.
- Lead the preparation of high-quality proposals, including the development of detailed fee structures and entry strategies for new client acquisition.
- Risk and Quality Management : Provide pertinent guidance and advice to colleagues on complex quality or risk management issues.
- Serve as an internal consultant to enable the team to proactively identify and address audit and engagement risk based on extensive experience.
- Project and Process Management : Manage multiple engagement priorities effectively by constantly balancing key variables such as risk exposure, commercial importance, level of urgency, and stakeholder impacts.
- Knowledge Management and Process Improvement : Make a strong contribution to the firms knowledge sharing efforts, reviewing and continually improving existing audit processes to ensure the team and the firm effectively capture and leverage technical expertise.
Required Skills :
Post Graduate (PG / Master) degree is required, coupled with relevant professional certification (CA, CPA, ACCA).2 to 7 Years of progressive experience in managing and leading Statutory Audit (External Audit) engagements, preferably within a large accounting or consulting firm.Proven capability to function as a Trusted Business Advisor and successfully manage client relationships at the senior management level.Strong evidence of Commercial Acumen and experience in developing client proposals, fee structures, and contributing to firm profitability.Demonstrated expertise in Risk Management related to audit quality, independence, and technical compliance.Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple large projects and processes under tight deadlines.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, vital for Networking and complex Conflict Management within engagement teams and with clients(ref : iimjobs.com)
