About The Opportunity
A leading tertiary-care provider in the hospital & healthcare services sector, delivering advanced cardiovascular care and interventional cardiology services in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. We operate a modern catheterization laboratory and multidisciplinary cardiac program focused on evidence-based, patient-centered outcomes.
Role : Consultant Interventional Cardiologist (DM Cardiology) — On-site, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and perform diagnostic coronary angiography and complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) including CTO and atherectomy procedures with IVUS / OCT guidance.
- Manage all aspects of cath lab operations : procedural scheduling, equipment readiness, device inventory, sterility protocols, and safety compliance.
- Provide comprehensive peri-procedural patient management : pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure hemodynamic care, complication management, and post-procedure discharge planning.
- Coordinate care with cardiac surgery, critical care, imaging and allied teams to plan hybrid or staged interventions and urgent referrals.
- Supervise and mentor junior cardiologists, fellows, and cath-lab staff; lead training sessions and enforce clinical protocols and procedural checklists.
- Drive clinical governance : maintain procedural logs, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews, implement quality improvement initiatives and ensure documentation for audits and registries.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
DM Cardiology with specialization in Interventional Cardiology (or equivalent recognized post-doctoral qualification).Valid registration with the appropriate State Medical Council (India) and clear medico-legal standing.Proven competence in PCI, coronary angiography, transradial techniques, CTO interventions and rotational atherectomy.Hands-on experience with intracoronary imaging (IVUS, OCT) and image-guided intervention strategies.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and demonstrated ability to manage cath-lab emergencies.Experience leading a catheterization laboratory or supervising interventional teams, with strong procedural documentation practices.Preferred
Experience with structural heart procedures or peripheral vascular interventions.Academic or research experience, including clinical trial participation and peer-reviewed publications.Fellowship or advanced training from a recognized tertiary-care cardiac centre.Benefits & Culture Highlights
