POTENTAIL TOTAL PACKAGE VALUE OF UP TO $673,200 (dependent on the level of experience and participation).
Full time indicative base package remuneration value of $351,220 and up to $460,646 (dependant on classification banding)

Additional incentives and allowances to the full time indicative total remunerative package value up to $212,560

About the Role :
The Department of Anaesthesia facilitates over 24,000 anaesthetic elective and emergency procedures each year. The breadth of procedures undertaken are all encompassing (cardiac, neurosurgery, and neonatal surgery) with the exception of solid organ transplant. We operate in several facilities, primarily Canberra Hospital which is the largest tertiary and trauma facility in the region, as well as North Canberra Hospital, Calvary John James Hospital, National Capital Private Hospital and other private surgery locations in Canberra.
As the primary teaching hospital and major trauma centre for ACT and the Southern NSW region, exposure to interesting cases is a certainty.
CHS is a partner in teaching with the Australian National University, the University of Canberra and the Australian Catholic University. Due to these partnerships and the flexible nature of this employment opportunity, excellent research opportunities are available.
These Anaesthetist position(s) in the Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine will support the anaesthesia roster on weekends, public holidays, rostered after hours work and additional emergency lists as required. Part-time hours and the number of anaesthetic sessions will be considered and can be negotiated on offer / acceptance of a position / contract.
Strong research links are maintained with the ANU, University of Canberra and the Australian Catholic University. All specialties are represented with the exception of organ transplantation. The hospital has well developed post graduate teaching programs. A fully equipped medical library is available on site with a large collection of hard copy and online journals and textbooks.
The preferred candidate maybe considered for a conjoint position in ANU at an academic level commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The academic position will be held for the duration of the Canberra Health Services employment and will be subject to regular performance reviews. No remuneration is attached to the University position. The employee will be responsible to the University on academic matters and to The Canberra Hospital & Health Services / Canberra Health Services for clinical / research matters.
