DSTG's Fishermans Bend facility in Melbourne is a world-class research hub for critical defence innovation, including biological and chemical sciences.

  • Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Defence
  • Aerosol Defence Research (protection against dermal and respiratory hazards)
  • Bioterrorism Preparedness and Epidemic Modelling
  • Radiological and Nuclear Defence Research

Key Services We Deliver

As a biological science professional working with us, you could contribute to projects involving :

  • Genomics services and bioinformatics.Biological sampling, culturing, analysis, and maintenance.
  • Molecular biology and biotechnology (design, synthesis, and evaluation).
  • Development of vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics.
  • Sample preparation, experimental design, deployment, monitoring, and retrieval.
  • Biological instrumentation development, calibration, and safety compliance.
  • Analytical services, measurement, and characterization of biological studies.
  • Equipment, assay, and software development for biological detection and diagnostics.

    • Who We’re Looking For

    We’re building a network of skilled professionals with :

  • Tertiary qualifications in biology, biotechnology, molecular biology, or related fields.
  • Experience in technical and / or management roles delivering biological science services.
  • Familiarity with Australian and International Standards, regulations, and Defence requirements.
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
