We are seeking a highly experienced Head - Operational Excellence to lead the operational excellence function across all facilities in India. This senior leadership role involves driving significant improvements in productivity, quality, and safety through the implementation of lean and Six Sigma methodologies, as well as leading facility consolidation and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Operational Excellence function across all facilities in India.
- Drive and manage the consolidation of multiple facilities, ensuring seamless integration, efficiency, and business continuity.
- Build the Operational Excellence team from the ground up, defining structure, recruiting talent, and developing internal capabilities.
- Deploy Lean, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, Six Sigma , and other structured methodologies to drive improvements in processes and performance.
- Identify and implement cost-saving, waste elimination , and process optimization initiatives.
- Ensure manning and workflow are aligned with takt time, aiming to achieve a cycle time within 80% of takt.
- Define and monitor KPIs to measure operational excellence and ensure accountability for continuous improvement.
- Lead the implementation of digital manufacturing tools (e.g., OEE, MES, Industry 4.0) across facilities.
- Drive measurable improvements in productivity, quality, uptime, and safety .
- Support new product development (NPD) and new facility planning with the integration of lean design principles.
- Align all excellence initiatives with overall business strategy and customer expectations.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Supply Chain.Serve as a key link between facility teams and senior leadership to ensure alignment on goals and execution.Facilitate Kaizen events , improvement workshops, and structured problem-solving activities.Collaborate with HR and L&D for continuous training and capability building across all levels.Ensure best practice sharing and standardization across all facilities and business units.Represent the Operational Excellence function in leadership reviews, customer audits, and facility assessments.Skills Required
Education : Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Industrial); Master's or MBA is a plus.Experience : 20+ years of experience in Operations Excellence .Experience in leading plant / facility consolidation initiatives is mandatory.Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams in transformation or improvement roles.Strong knowledge of Lean, TPM, Six Sigma , and digital manufacturing tools.Excellent communication, change management, and cross-functional leadership skills.Skills Required
