Job Description
The Finance Controller will be responsible for driving financial integrity, transparency, and compliance across the company. The role entails managing financial reporting, statutory and internal audit, accounting processes and controls, internal financial controls (IFC). The Controller will serve as the financial custodian ensuring timely and accurate closure of books, adherence to accounting standards (Ind AS), and strong governance.
Responsibilities
A. Financial Reporting and governance of accounting process / controls
- Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books of accounts as per Ind AS and corporate policies.
- Prepare standalone and consolidated financial statements for management and statutory purposes.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and tax consultants to ensure smooth audits and compliance with Companies Act, Income Tax, and GST provisions.
- Ensure all accounting entries and reconciliations (GL, vendor, customer, inter-company) are timely and accurate.
- Oversee fixed assets accounting and capitalization across all manufacturing units.
- Oversee accounts payable team members and process including ensuring compliance of MSME law and timely payment to vendors
B. Support other functions
Act as first point of contact for other functions on all accountings / financial reporting matters within the organisation (sales / purchases / manufacturing plants, etc)Support other sub-functions within finance team (FP&A / Legal and compliance / Taxation)Develop dashboards and MIS for timely decision-making at corporate and plant levels.C. Controls, Systems & Governance
Strengthen internal financial controls (IFC) and ensure operating effectiveness across locations.Lead the finance digitization roadmap viz. automation of reporting, SAP enhancements, and control workflows.Implement preventive controls for risk areas like credit, cash handling, and inventory valuation.D. Team Leadership & Capability Building
Lead a team of 12-15 team members in Accounts Payable and financial reportingBuild functional capability through training on Ind AS, GST, SAP, and financial analytics.Create a performance-driven culture fostering accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.Desired Candidate Profile
Qualification : Chartered Accountant (CA)Experience : 4–5 years of similar profile preferably in manufacturing sector or companies at a scale of Rs. 500 crores plus turnover
