Job Title : Senior Packaging Engineering Trainer – Pharmaceutical Industry

Location : Remote

Job Type : Part-time

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Packaging Engineering Trainer with over 10 years of hands-on expertise in pharmaceutical packaging systems, materials, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and deliver training programs to upskill engineers, technicians, and production staff in modern packaging technologies, GMP standards, serialization, and quality compliance within the pharma industry.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and deliver technical training modules on pharmaceutical packaging processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Train teams on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) , Good Packaging Practices (GPP) , and regulatory compliance (USFDA, EU, WHO, etc.).
  • Create and maintain standardized training materials , SOPs, and skill matrices.
  • Conduct hands-on workshops on packaging line operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and validation.
  • Lead training on packaging line qualification (IQ / OQ / PQ) and change control procedures .
  • Evaluate trainees’ technical competency through assessments, feedback sessions, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Stay updated on latest packaging trends, materials innovation , and sustainability practices in pharma packaging.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, Engineering) to identify training needs and develop customized learning paths.
  • Support audits and regulatory inspections by ensuring training documentation and compliance readiness.

Required Skills & Competencies :

  • Strong technical knowledge of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging in pharmaceuticals.
  • Expertise in blister packs, bottles, ampoules, vials, cartons, labeling, serialization, and tamper-evident systems.
  • Familiar with packaging machinery (cartoners, labelers, blistering, bottling, and track & trace systems).
  • Sound understanding of validation, qualification, and packaging line efficiency (OEE) improvement.
  • Proficient in GMP, GDP, ISO, and regulatory guidelines (USFDA, MHRA, EU-GMP) .
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to design technical course content and e-learning materials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Educational Qualification :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical / Packaging / Industrial / Pharmaceutical Engineering or related field.
  • Additional certifications in GMP, Lean Six Sigma, or Packaging Technology preferred.
  • Preferred Experience :

  • 10+ years of industrial experience in pharmaceutical packaging operations, engineering, or validation .
  • Prior experience as a technical trainer, learning facilitator, or mentor within the pharma or allied industries.
  • Exposure to automation and digital transformation in packaging (serialization, vision inspection, MES).
