Project Overview :
The project aims to design and develop a Load Builder Engine. A load builder leverages algorithmic decision-making to assess shipment properties—such as weight, volume, destination, dimensions and constraints—and construct loads / trucks in a way that maximizes truck utilization.
Internship Role :
The internship contributing to the development of the optimization engine. The selected candidate will focus on building and implementing algorithms to enable efficient and scalable load building. The internship duration will be one month.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop, structure and maintain modules for the load builder engine using Python
Design and implement optimization models using mixed integer programming and heuristic methods
Utilize Gurobi or similar solvers to address real-world logistics optimization challenges
Collaborate with the core team to incorporate business rules and operational constraints.
Conduct performance testing to ensure robustness and scalability of the solution.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications :
Strong proficiency in Python programming.
Practical experience with Gurobi or equivalent optimization solvers.
Knowledge of mixed integer programming, heuristics, and related optimization techniques.
Basic understanding of logistics or transportation planning concepts (preferred).
