Design Manager – External Development

Client of 70 DEGREE is an award-winning international consultancy firm with offices in Canada, India and USA. We offer sustainable urban development solutions with focus on urban planning, rural planning, urban design, town planning and landscape architecture.

Role Overview :

The Design Manager will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and driving the external development design process for one of our key projects. This role requires strong project management skills, technical understanding of landscape and external development works, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.

Experience : 08 to 10 yrs

Location : Pune / Mumbai

Key Responsibilities :

Act as the primary point of contact for design management on the assigned project.

Coordinate between internal design teams, consultants, architects, and contractors for onsite execution as per consultant design.

Oversee preparation, review, and timely delivery of design drawings, presentations, and technical documents.

Manage project schedules, deliverables, and approvals to ensure deadlines are met.

Track design issues, resolve conflicts, and ensure quality and accuracy in all submissions.

Conduct regular design coordination meetings and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with project requirements, local guidelines, and client expectations.

Support senior management in reporting project progress and key design milestones.

Update to include time management for different onsite work schedules.

Project management for external area - Swimming Pool, Children play area, etc.

Travel across Pune & Mumbai as per requirment.

Qualifications & Skills :

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture / Landscape Architecture / Master’s in Construction Management, PMC Certified courses

8 to 10 years of experience in project / design management, preferably in large-scale external development or landscape projects. Atleast 05 Project on-site experience.

Strong understanding of external development works (site planning, landscape works, infrastructure coordination).

Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Excel, etc.) and design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, etc.).

Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
