Role Overview
The General Ledger and Reporting Lead will be the foundational owner of the company's financial records, ensuring all transactions are accurately and timely recorded, reconciled, and reported. This is a hands-on role perfect for an ambitious individual ready to step up and lead the core accounting operations in a dynamic, high-volume environment. You will be instrumental in helping the company mature its financial processes to support future scale and audits.
This role is critical for maintaining financial integrity as we scale and will report directly to the Finance Manager / Controller.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Close & Reporting
- Own the Month-End Close : Lead and execute the end-to-end month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring completion within established deadlines (e.G., 5-day close).
- Journal Entries & Accuracy : Prepare, review, and approve complex journal entries, including accruals, prepaid amortization, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Balance Sheet assurance : Perform detailed reconciliations of all key GL accounts, including bank accounts, intercompany balances, complex liabilities, and reserves.
- Financial Statements : Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for management review and external reporting.
Process Improvement & Systems
Automation Focus : Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements within the close cycle, reconciliation procedures, and reporting workflows, leveraging our ERP system (Workday).Policy Development : Help standardize and document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls (SOX readiness).Systems Integrity : Ensure the integrity of the General Ledger, including the maintenance of the chart of accounts and segment structures.Compliance & Audit
Audit Readiness : Serve as a key contact for external auditors, preparing and providing timely, accurate support and schedules for audit inquiries.Compliance : Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and all relevant statutory reporting requirements.Team leadership & development
Team Management : Lead and develop a team of 6-8 accounting professionalsTraining & Development : Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff membersCross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, HR and Operations teamsStrategic Finance Support
Revenue Recognition : Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606Technical Accounting : Research and implement complex accounting standards and policiesBudgeting & Forecasting : Support annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting activitiesRequired Qualifications
Education : Chartered AccountantExperience : 4-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, including significant experience leading month-end close in a high-growth or publicly traded environment.Technical Skills : Deep knowledge of the U.S. GAAP. Advanced proficiency in G-suite (e.G., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling).Systems : Hands-on experience with a major ERP system (Workday).Mindset : Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented with a strong focus on building scalable processes and meeting tight deadlines. Experience working in an environment with $100M+ in revenue is a significant plus.Why Join Us
