Role Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead the finance function of our steel processing operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in costing, budgeting, and financial control, particularly within a manufacturing or process-driven industrial environment. This role requires a strategic finance professional who can provide insights to enhance profitability, drive cost efficiencies, and strengthen financial governance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Develop annual and quarterly budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for plant operations and corporate office.
- Collaborate with operations and procurement teams to ensure budgets are realistic and aligned with production targets.
- Track budget utilization and highlight deviations with actionable insights.
Product Costing & Probability Analysis
Establish and maintain a robust costing system for products, raw materials, and processes (including overhead absorption).Analyze product costing, yield losses, and conversion costs to improve margins.Implement standard costing, monitor variances, and drive corrective actions.Conduct profitability analysis by product line, customer, and plant.Financial Control & Analysis
Ensure accurate and timely monthly closing, MIS reporting, and management dashboards.Oversee ledger scrutiny, reconciliation, and financial compliance with statutory requirements.Implement internal financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.Prepare financial statements in compliance with IGAAP / Ind AS.Business Performance & Strategy Support
Partner with senior leadership to evaluate capital investments, working capital, and cost optimization opportunities.Provide financial insights for strategic decisions, including capacity expansion and process improvements.Drive operational excellence through KPI tracking and benchmarking.Audit, Compliance & Risk Management
Coordinate statutory, internal, and cost audits, ensuring timely closure of observations.Ensure GST, TDS, and income tax compliance, along with filing of returns.Identify financial and operational risks and recommend mitigation strategiesDesired Candidate Profile
Qualification : Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (ICWA)Experience : 10–15 years of post-qualification experience in manufacturing / steel / metal / engineering industries.Core Expertise : Costing, Budgeting, MIS, Financial Controls, ERP-based accounting.Preferred Exposure : Experience in plant-level finance, raw material costing, and process cost optimization.Systems Knowledge : Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally Prime), MS Excel, and financial modeling.Key Competencies
