Job Description – Primary School Principal (Female)

Position :

Principal – Primary Section (Grade 1 to 5)

Reporting To : Director-Principal

Role Summary

The Primary School Principal will lead the academic, administrative, and operational functions of the Primary Section. She will ensure strong foundational learning, child-centric pedagogy, and compliance with CBSE / NEP guidelines while creating a nurturing environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

Implement curriculum aligned with CBSE norms, NEP 2020, and NCF 2021.

Ensure strong focus on foundational literacy and numeracy.

Conduct classroom observations, notebook audits, and lesson plan reviews.

Guide teachers in adopting innovative and activity-based learning methods.

Student Development & Well-being

Oversee holistic development of children through academics, values, and co-curriculars.

Ensure inclusive practices for diverse learners.

Maintain discipline and student safety.

Teacher Supervision & Development

Supervise and mentor teachers, HMs, and coordinators of the primary wing.

Conduct teacher training and professional development programs.

Organize appraisals and provide feedback for growth.

Administration & Compliance

Manage daily operations, timetables, and academic calendars.

Ensure compliance with CBSE standards and school policies.

Prepare and submit reports to the Director-Principal.

Parent & Community Engagement

Maintain transparent communication with parents.

Conduct PTMs, orientations, and parent workshops.

Address concerns promptly and effectively.

Leadership & Culture

Promote school ethos, values, and discipline.

Build team spirit and resolve interpersonal issues among staff.

Encourage innovation, excellence, and accountability.

Qualifications & Skills

Master’s Degree with

B.Ed.

(mandatory).

Minimum 10 years of teaching experience, with 3–5 years in a leadership role (preferably CBSE).

Strong knowledge of early childhood and primary education.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
