Senior React Native Developer

Role :

We are looking for a seasoned Senior React Native Developer to lead front-end development and own the mobile architecture of our platform.

This role is critical in enhancing platform stability, usability, and scalability as we position ourselves competitively in the market.

You will work closely with a cross-functional team comprising backend developers (Django), QA engineers, and a project manager to ensure timely, high-quality feature :

• Architect, develop, and maintain the mobile application using React Native.
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and security of the mobile app from the ground up.
• Drive the implementation of key product roadmap features, including :
• A secure, two-way chat system (employer-to-crew and group chats).
• Offline-first functionality for reliable operation in remote or low-connectivity environments.
• Seamless e-wallet and payment system integration.
• Location-based services and real-time notifications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks (e.g.).
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies : sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Provide accurate estimates and transparent progress updates.
• Collaborate with the cross-functional team to execute parallel work streams.
• Contribute to application stabilization efforts.
• Support the technical onboarding of new maritime companies onto the :
• 5+ years of mobile development experience, with 3+ years in React Native.
• Proven experience building and deploying mobile apps from scratch to production (iOS & Google Play).
• Strong grasp of React Native architecture, state management (Redux, MobX, Zustand), hooks, and functional components.
• Hands-on experience integrating third-party APIs (payment gateways, push notifications, chat SDKs, maps).
• Experience building offline-capable apps, including data persistence and background sync.
• Proficiency with Git and version control in collaborative environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a self-driven, proactive :
• Experience with chat / messaging systems (e.g., WebSockets, Socket.IO).
• Background in payment systems, PCI DSS compliance, or wallet development.
• Experience with location-based services and mobile geolocation features.
• Familiarity with Django REST Framework for smoother backend collaboration.
• Experience deploying to DigitalOcean or similar cloud platforms.
• Exposure to eSIM or mobile telephony technologies.
