About the Role :
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced MicroStrategy Developer to join our team on a Fixed Term Contract. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, implementing, and optimizing robust business intelligence solutions, including interactive dashboards and comprehensive reports. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in MicroStrategy development, coupled with a keen understanding of data warehousing concepts and a preference for expertise within the telecom domain. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to translate complex business requirements into high-performance BI solutions that provide actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities :
- MicroStrategy Development : Design, develop, and deploy a wide range of MicroStrategy reports, interactive dashboards, documents, and mobile applications to meet diverse business intelligence needs.
- Schema & Data Model Optimization : Create, maintain, and optimize MicroStrategy schema objects (facts, attributes, hierarchies, logical tables, metrics, filters, prompts, custom groups, consolidations) to ensure optimal performance, data accuracy, and user-friendliness.
- ETL Integration : Collaborate with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) developers and data engineers to ensure seamless integration of
MicroStrategy BI solutions with existing and new data pipelines, ensuring data availability and consistency.
Requirements Gathering & Analysis : Partner with business analysts and end-users to deeply understand business requirements, pain points, and reporting needs, translating them into technical specifications and effective BI solutions.Performance Tuning : Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks within MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, and underlying schema objects, leveraging tools and best practices to enhance user experience.Quality Assurance : Conduct thorough testing, validation, and debugging of developed BI solutions to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and adherence to functional and non-functional requirements.Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for MicroStrategy reports, dashboards, schema objects, and development processes.Support & Maintenance : Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for existing MicroStrategy applications, ensuring high availability and reliability.Required Qualifications :
Experience : Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in MicroStrategy development.
Technical Skills :
MicroStrategy BI Platform : Demonstrated expertise in the full MicroStrategy suite, including MicroStrategy Desktop, Web, Developer, Architect, and Intelligence Server. Proficient in report development, dashboard creation, Dossiers, Cube creation, and administering user / group security.Schema Design & Data Modeling : Proven ability to design and implement efficient, scalable, and robust data models within MicroStrategy. Strong understanding of relational database concepts, star schema, snowflake schema, and data warehousing principles.SQL Proficiency : Advanced SQL querying skills, including complex joins, subqueries, analytical functions, and query optimization techniques, particularly with large datasets.ETL Integration : Experience with integrating MicroStrategy with various ETL processes and data sources (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes, operational databases). Familiarity with ETL tools and concepts is highly desirable.Soft Skills :
Detail-Oriented & Analytical : Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, validated, and accurate reports and dashboards. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.Collaboration & Communication : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to effectively partner with diverse business and technical teams, facilitate discussions, and convey complex technical information clearly.Proactive & Self-Motivated : Ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and drive projects to completion.Good to Have :
Telecom Industry Experience : Prior experience working in the telecommunications domain, understanding common telecom data models, metrics, and business processes.Cloud BI Exposure : Familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing and BI platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake) and their integration with MicroStrategy.Performance Optimization Tools : Experience with database performance monitoring tools and techniques.Good to Have :
