Business System Analyst - SQL / ETL

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled Business System Analyst (BSA) with strong experience in data analysis, system integration, and the banking industry. The ideal candidate will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams to translate business needs into technical requirements, with a focus on data warehouse solutions, regulatory compliance, and risk reporting. This role involves working closely with data engineers, solution architects, and business users to ensure that technology solutions meet business and regulatory objectives.

Key Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
• Translate business requirements into clear and detailed functional and non-functional specifications for technical teams.
• Participate in and support the design and delivery of data warehouse solutions, ensuring compatibility with existing systems and compliance with banking regulations.
• Develop and maintain source-to-target mapping and data flow documentation to support ETL processes and ensure data integrity.
• Perform data analysis, profiling, and validation to ensure consistency, accuracy, and usability of data across systems.
• Work closely with ETL developers (e.g., using Informatica or equivalent tools) to guide development based on business logic and data transformation rules.
• Facilitate and support testing activities, including writing test cases, conducting UAT, and validating outcomes against business expectations.
• Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams, resolving ambiguities and ensuring mutual understanding.
• Identify areas for process improvement and propose solutions that enhance data quality, reporting accuracy, and system Skills & Qualifications :
• 6-12 years of experience as a Business System Analyst or in a similar role, preferably within the banking or financial services domain.
• Solid understanding of banking business processes, particularly in areas like risk management, compliance, and regulatory reporting.
• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation.
• Strong experience in documenting business requirements, data mapping, and process flows.
• Experience working with data warehouses, ETL tools (e.g., Informatica), and data modeling concepts.
• Familiarity with SDLC methodologies and tools used for requirements and defect tracking (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
