COBOL / AS400 Engineer

Key Responsibilities :

• Work in an IBM i Series (AS400) environment, utilizing system commands and understanding database structures and library hierarchy.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using COBOL / 400, SQL / 400, and CL programming languages.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing programs and queries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile / SAFe methodologies for software delivery.
• Leverage tools like DBU, SEQUEL, Work Query, CA2E Implementor, and ROBOT for efficient development and management.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and backlog grooming sessions.
• Utilize change management tools to track and deploy software changes.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members to understand business requirements and translate them into technical Skills :
• 6+ years of hands-on development experience in COBOL / 400, SQL / 400, and CL.
• Working knowledge of IBM i Series (AS400) system architecture, commands, and environment.
• Familiarity with tools such as DBU, SEQUEL, CA2E Implementor, ROBOT, etc.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and team collaboration abilities.
• Experience using Agile / SAFe to Have :
• Exposure to Change Management tools.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments or BFSI domain is a plus.
