Job Summary :

The Voyage Optimization Specialist contributes to the vessel routing process as required on a shift basis, 24 / 7 / 365. Provides assistance to the client with Route planning ‐ Voyage optimization and Weather routing within customer contracted time requirements.

Task & Responsibilities :

• Assist our clients in finding the most optimal route (safest, most time-efficient or fuel-efficient route) with the help of our software to ensure the safety of the vessel, cargo and crew.
• Respond to client inquires for weather conditions and other information during the voyages and have contact to both offshore and onshore staff.
• Prepares and sends Wx updates to Vessels under supervision.
• Willing to work during night hours on rotational basis.
• Periodically monitors the 24 / 7 customer service routing phone line on a rotational basis, including night hours.
• Monitor incoming and outgoing communication on common mailing tool. Shares important information with the analysts.
• Monitor speed and position deviations for vessels on active routes and notify relevant parties.
• Inform vessels close to hurricanes / typhoons and offer assistance.
• Update routes for vessels with changed performance and notify relevant parties in case of large ETA / cost changes.
• Communicates with Operators / Ship Masters as part of our quick response.
• Assist in training of personnel with regard to the platform and on voyage optimization.
• Contribute to the success of the team as a whole through consistent and professional work ethic, collaboration and input to process improvement.
• Be part of testing and giving feedback on future development of our voyage optimization module
