Senior Data Scientist - R / Python

About the Role :

We are looking for a highly accomplished in Data Science & Engineering with over 10+ years of diversified experience across data storage, hardware design, simulation engineering, supply chain, aerospace structures, reliability, retail, and quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic foundation (Ph.D.) in Design and Optimization, hands-on expertise in advanced analytics, and a proven track record of leading high-impact, cross-functional teams across geographies.

This role will serve as the bridge between business goals and technology, helping articulate complex technical solutions for clients and driving the data science presales strategy.

Key Responsibilities :

Presales & Client Engagement :

• Collaborate with sales, delivery, and domain experts to assess client challenges and propose tailored data science and AI solutions.
• Lead technical presentations, PoCs, and discovery workshops for clients across industries.
• Translate business requirements into analytical models and frameworks for client Design & Architecture :
• Architect scalable and domain-specific data science solutions leveraging statistical modeling, machine learning, optimization, and simulation.
• Design solutions integrating structured and unstructured data from varied sources like IoT systems, supply chain logs, and engineering simulations.
• Leverage deep domain knowledge to craft innovative analytics use cases in engineering, manufacturing, and retail & Execution :
• Lead and mentor teams of data scientists, engineers, and analysts throughout presales and project transition.
• Partner with global business and technology teams to drive innovation and solution relevance.
• Engage with R&D and delivery teams to ensure solution feasibility and alignment with client & Project Management :
• Manage cross-functional teams and oversee technical delivery alignment.
• Foster team development, ensure knowledge sharing, and support upskilling initiatives.
• Provide thought leadership and contribute to building re-usable assets, white papers, and & Skills :
• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering / Applied Mathematics / Operations Research or related, with a focus on Design & Numerical Optimization.
• 10+ years of experience spanning :

1. Data storage, simulation, hardware design

2. Aerospace / space structures and reliability analysis

3. Supply chain optimization and retail analytics

4. Statistical modeling and big data analytics
