About the Role
Hope Rises International is seeking a committed, experienced professional to serve as the Asia Church Engagement Lead . This full-time role is crucial to our mission, advancing our church-centered core approach across skin-NTD endemic areas in South and Southeast Asia.
You will be responsible for cultivating and stewarding gospel-centered partnerships with churches, denominations, and Christian networks to integrate the full patient pathway—from suspect identification and referral to treatment and holistic psychosocial / spiritual support—with local congregations and communities.
This position is remote, based in one of four strategic locations : India, Nepal, Bangladesh, or the Philippines. We are seeking candidates who can work and move freely within the region. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this position. The role requires regular travel throughout South and Southeast Asia to build relationships and support our partners. As a subject matter expert, you will collaborate with our Program team to promote stigma reduction, ensure strong integration between church networks and health systems, and support sustainable, locally owned solutions.
Key responsibilities include establishing trusted relationships with external partners, mobilizing churches for early case detection and patient accompaniment, designing and facilitating contextualized, faith-informed training for pastors and lay leaders, and documenting the impact of church involvement through powerful case studies and storytelling.
Applicants must be practicing Christians who demonstrate an Integral Mission Mindset —centering work on the gospel demonstration and proclamation while serving the whole person and community.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with a demonstrated Christian faith and alignment with historic Christian orthodoxy, holding a deep understanding of Integral Mission in practice. You'll need a minimum five years of experience in faith-based and / or community health programming, along with proven experience leading church engagement and community mobilization in more than one South or Southeast Asian country. A graduate-level background in social sciences, theology, public health, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required. Essential skills include strong intercultural competence, fluency in English and at least one major regional language, and excellent participatory-facilitation and public communication skills to bridge church, health, and NGO sectors.
Preferred qualifications include recognition as an ordained minister in good standing, programmatic familiarity with community-based health (Skin-NTDs preferred), including referral systems and patient support, and experience developing curricula and toolkits for church-based health engagement. Familiarity with Christian Health Associations (CHAs) and coordination with Ministries of Health are also strong assets.
Why Join Us?
At Hope Rises International, you’ll be part of a team working to proclaim the gospel in both word and deed. This role offers the unique opportunity to directly integrate faith and professional expertise to create measurable, transformative change.
You will empower local churches to restore lives marked by dignity, hope, and renewed opportunity for individuals affected by NTDs. We are looking for an Adaptive Learner and Partnership-Oriented leader who can navigate diverse theological traditions and cultural contexts with humility, drive measurable results, and amplify the impact of Christian mission across Asia. If you are passionate about connecting the local church to global health and believe in the power of holistic healing for both body and spirit, we invite you to consider joining us.
