Job Title : Engineering Manager / Engineering Lead - Data Engineering

Job Location : Bangalore, Karnataka - India

Job summary : We are a leading Software as a Service (SaaS) company that specializes in the transformation of data in the US healthcare industry through cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions. As the Engineering Manager – Data Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a team of data engineers to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and platforms. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of our data infrastructure, enabling HiLabs to deliver high-quality healthcare solutions.

Responsibilities :

  • Work with business teams to provide end to end solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teams and clients
  • Understand project requirements, coordinate with resources and direct the projects in the right direction in a timely manner.
  • Ability to manage change and effectively pass on the information down the line to concerned teams for smoother execution
  • Delegate and allocate responsibilities efficiently to manage projects end to end
  • Provide direction and technical expertise in design, development and systems integration
  • Able to make quick decisions and solve technical problems to provide an efficient environment for project implementation

Team Leadership :

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data engineers.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback

    • Project Management :

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data initiatives with business goals.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects within scope and budget.

    • Technical Oversight :

  • Architect and implement scalable data pipelines and storage solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all platforms.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and incorporate best practices.

    • Stakeholder Collaboration :

  • Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders

    • Desired Profile :

  • Engineering degree in computer science or related field from a renowned and accredited engineering college or university
  • 8 to 10+ years’ proven growth journey from a developer to a lead role in fast-paced IT product companies is a must
  • Be both highly technical and an effective people manager
  • Communicate cross-functionally and drive engineering efforts
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert in one or more product domains
  • Should have demonstrated ability to recruit and manage technical teams, including performance management
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Flink.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and related services.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling.
  • Knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
