AI Agent Developer (Sustainability Focus, India-Based, Remote)

This position is responsible for building, deploying, and optimising AI agents to support research automation, ESG analysis, and sustainability intelligence workflows. The incumbent functions as the primary technical specialist, collaborating across research and product teams to enable scalable AI-driven solutions within a remote setting.

Base Location : India

Work Model : Majority remote, with occasional in-person team meetings, client visits, or workshops as needed. Requires stable high-speed internet and the ability to work across time zones when collaborating with international stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain autonomous and assistive AI agents for sustainability research and consulting workflows.

Integrate agent solutions with APIs, cloud platforms, sustainability databases, and external client systems.

Collaborate with internal research and consulting teams to develop, test, and refine agent-driven products and reporting solutions (e.g., ESG, TCFD, scenario analysis).

Support R&D of new agent features, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), workflow orchestration, and prompt engineering.

Optimise system performance for Indian and international clients, balancing scalability, uptime, and data security.

Write technical and user documentation and provide occasional end-user training and onboarding.

Preferred Skills

Prior experience in building agentic workflows using technologies such as RAG pipelines, vector databases, prompt engineering, and orchestration libraries like CrewAI or LangGraph.

Strong foundation in Python and familiarity with modern AI / ML frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Llama Index, OpenAI API, Claude API).

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Understanding of API development, integration patterns, and microservices architecture.

Familiarity with sustainability data standards and ESG frameworks is a strong advantage.

Fundamentals of data visualisation and dashboard integration for research deliverables.

Strong communication and remote-collaboration skills adapted to multi-location teams.

Reporting and Collaboration

Reports to Head of Research or Product Manager.

Works closely with research leads, data analysts, and management consultants in India and globally.
