Senior Full Stack Software Engineer - Next.js / React.js

Job Title : Full Stack Developer (Monthly Contract 12 Months Expected)

Location : Remote (working hours will overlap with U.S. Eastern Time)

Reporting To : Executive Director

Compensation :

Full-time : $500 $700 USD / month (based on experience)

Part-time : $3.50 - $4.50 / hour (up to 20 hours per week)

Initial Commitment : 2-month part-time engagement (with potential to extend to full-time)

About SpeakHire :

SPEAKHIRE is a US based ed-tech non-profit that connects developing talent from the U.S. to career development opportunities and coaching with professionals in their field who serve as Career Pathways Champions. These Champions offer guidance and support through structured internship sessions with young people, ages 15 - 23, via video conferencing to promote employability skills development and to establish a plan and clear college and career goals.

Role Overview :

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer to help build and scale our educational platform. This role is ideal for someone eager to work in a mission-driven environment and grow alongside a small but committed technical team.

You will be responsible for both front-end and back-end development (approximately 50 / 50 split), collaborating directly with our Director and Tech Lead in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Participate in bi-weekly sprint cycles
• Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to understand evolving platform needs
• Implement new features and fix bugs across the stack
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code
• Translate Figma designs into production-ready UI using Material Design standards
• Ensure system stability and reliability through proactive debugging and testing
