Role Summary :
IIHMR Bangalore is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Assistant Professor in Health IT Management to contribute to teaching, research, and academic innovation at the intersection of digital health, healthcare systems, and information technology. The ideal candidate will have experience in health informatics, EHR systems, digital health tools, and health systems integration.
Key Responsibilities :
Teaching & Academics :
- Teach courses on Digital Health, Health Information Systems, Health IT Policies, and Healthcare Management.
- Design and revise curricula in line with evolving health IT standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7, ICD, SNOMED).
- Mentor students on dissertations and IT-related industry projects.
- Conduct training programs for healthcare professionals in hospital IT and digital transformation.
- Supervise student internships in health tech companies and hospitals.
Research & Institutional Engagement :
Initiate and support research in digital health, telemedicine, and EHR analyticsPublish in indexed journals and present at conferences related to digital health.Collaborate with hospitals, IT vendors, and public health departments.Contribute to institutional accreditation and digital health advocacy.Qualifications & Experience :
Essential :
Master’s degree (M.Tech / MBA / M.Sc) in Health Informatics, Public Health with IT specialization, Healthcare Management, or a related fieldPhD (awarded or registered) in Health IT, Healthcare Informatics, or related domains (preferred)Minimum of 2–3 years of academic, research, or healthcare IT industry experienceDesirable :
Experience with EHR systems, digital health platforms, FHIR / HL7 standardsFamiliarity with health data privacy frameworks and telemedicine regulationsSkills Required :
