Assistant Manager / Manager – US Tax (SALT – Form 1065)

Role Summary

Seeking experienced US Tax professionals with strong expertise in State and Local Tax (SALT) and Partnership taxation (Form 1065) to manage end-to-end compliance, review complex returns, and lead teams while collaborating closely with US onshore stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and review of US Partnership (Form 1065) returns with multi-state SALT exposure.
• Manage state and local tax compliance , including apportionment, composite returns, and withholding.
• Review K-1s, state schedules, and workpapers ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as primary liaison for US onshore teams and clients on SALT matters.
• Identify SALT risks, issues, and planning opportunities; provide technical guidance.
• Ensure adherence to Big 4 quality standards , timelines, and documentation requirements.
• Coach, review, and develop junior team members; drive performance and quality improvements.

Technical & Functional Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in SALT compliance for partnerships (Form 1065) .
• In-depth knowledge of US federal and state tax regulations impacting partnerships.
• Experience with multi-state filings and apportionment methodologies .
• Proficiency in US tax tools such as GoSystem, OneSource, or CCH Axcess .
• Strong analytical, review, and issue-resolution capabilities.
