Position Overview

The Sales Operations Analyst acts as a bridge between sales teams, business leaders, and support functions. Leveraging data analysis, systems expertise, and business acumen, the analyst drives operational excellence and enables revenue growth. This role balances analytical responsibilities with broader generalist tasks, making it ideal for someone who thrives on variety, collaboration, and impact.

Responsibilities

Sales Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze CRM and other sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports for sales teams and leadership.
  • Automate recurring reports and develop visualizations that highlight trends and forecast outcomes.
  • Present actionable insights in clear, accessible formats for diverse stakeholders.

CRM & Process Optimization

  • Maintain and optimize CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent) to ensure data accuracy.
  • Partner with sales teams to refine sales stages, streamline workflows, and automate tasks.
  • Train and support users on CRM best practices and new features.
  • Sales Operations & Strategic Support

  • Contribute to forecasting, pipeline management, quota setting, and commission-related analysis.
  • Data Integrity Champion : Ensure reporting accuracy, reconcile anomalies, and maintain strong documentation of analysis and data management processes.
  • Business Decision Support : Provide strategic insights and recommendations using statistical analysis and data interpretation that go beyond standard reporting and help shape sales strategy, compensation, territory planning, and performance improvement.
  • Assist with special projects and cross-functional initiatives that improve business performance.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and sales effectiveness.
  • Generalist & Business Support

  • Organize team meetings, enablement sessions, incentive programs, and operational communications.
  • Support cross-department projects with marketing, finance, customer success, and product teams.
  • Act as a connector to ensure information flows smoothly and issues are resolved quickly.
  • Qualifications and Requirements :

    Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Salesforce Admin) are an asset.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Sales, Marketing, Operations, or related functions.
  • Advanced Excel Skills : Proficiency with complex formulas (SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, XLOOKUP), dynamic pivot tables, data cleaning / validation, weighted averages, heat mapping, and scenario analysis with What-If tools.
  • Reporting & Visualization : Experience automating recurring reports, building dashboards, and creating data visualizations for sales and executive audiences.
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with the ability to move beyond reporting to generate strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with comfort presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong project management, organizational skills, and adaptability to shifting priorities.
  • Preferred

  • Proficiency with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI; SQL skills are a strong asset.
  • Experience in technology, SaaS, or services industries.
  • Familiarity with sales forecasting, incentive compensation, and territory planning.
  • Exposure to marketing automation platforms and sales enablement tools.
