Job description

Our team at Hotfoot Technology Solutions Private Limited is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SQL Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust database solutions that support enterprise-level applications and reporting systems.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for writing optimized SQL queries, developing stored procedures, creating views, and ensuring the security and integrity of data across platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop, test, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
  • Design and maintain relational databases, ensuring data consistency, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate with application developers, business analysts, and data engineers to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable database solutions.
  • Perform database performance tuning and query optimization using indexing, execution plans, and refactoring techniques.
  • Design and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Ensure database security, backup, and disaster recovery procedures are in place.
  • Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements and suggest enhancements.
  • Create and maintain documentation including data dictionaries, ER diagrams, and system workflows.
  • Conduct unit testing and participate in code reviews and peer programming as needed.
  • Provide production support for database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

Technical Skills Required :

  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL / PL / SQL with experience in writing complex queries, joins, and procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle databases.
  • Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, Informatica, Talend, or custom scripting.
  • Understanding of data normalization, data modeling, and database architecture principles.
  • Experience with SQL Profiler, Execution Plans, and other performance monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) and CI / CD processes for database deployments.
  • Knowledge of BI / reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS is a plus.
  • Exposure to cloud database platforms such as Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, or Google Cloud SQL is a plus.

    • Educational Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications in SQL / database technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified : Azure Data Fundamentals, Oracle Certified SQL Developer) are a plus
