Job Description : IT Quality Engineer

Location : Hyderabad, India

Experience Level : 2 – 4 years

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop test automation scripts using Playwright for UI automation and Karate for API testing.
  • Apply GenAI tools and MCP (Model-Centric Programming) concepts at a foundational level to enhance test strategies and automation efficiency.
  • Develop automated tests in Python and JavaScript where applicable.
  • Execute and build automation pipeline within CI / CD ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA to ensure comprehensive test coverage in an Agile environment.
  • Design and execute BDD-based test cases, collaborating with stakeholders to define Gherkin-based feature files.
  • Execute manual and automated scripts
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and drive their resolution.
  • Participate actively in code reviews and promote test-driven development best practices.
  • Continuously research and implement tools and practices that improve testing effectiveness and coverage.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in QA with a strong understanding of SDLC and QA processes.
  • 1 years of experience in test automation using Karate and Java.
  • Experience in writing automation code in Python and JavaScript UI test automation.
  • Familiarity working in Agile (Scrum / Kanban) development environments.
  • Familiarity with BDD practices, including writing feature files using Gherkin syntax.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Playwright or Karate frameworks.
  • General knowledge of Generative AI tools and MCP concepts as applied in testing scenarios (foundational level).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI / CD.
  • Familiarity to cloud-based testing environments.
  • Familiarity with test data management and mock services.
  • Good understanding of performance and security testing concepts.
