Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior GIS Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in ESRI products and have extensive experience in GIS development . This role will focus on creating and implementing advanced geospatial solutions for our projects in the clean / green energy and utility sectors , including virtual power plants and data strategy initiatives. As a leader on the team, you will provide technical guidance and ensure the quality and integrity of our spatial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain GIS applications using ESRI products like ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Server .
  • Develop custom geospatial solutions and tools using Python, JavaScript , and other relevant programming languages.
  • Integrate GIS applications with other data systems and technologies to support comprehensive data analysis and visualization.
  • Perform spatial data analysis and create high-quality maps, reports, and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and deliver GIS solutions that meet business needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior GIS developers and analysts.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in GIS technology and best practices, and incorporate them into projects.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of spatial data and GIS applications.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering , or a related field.
  • Extensive professional experience in GIS development , with a strong focus on ESRI products .
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and SQL .
  • Experience with web GIS development using ESRI Web AppBuilder, ArcGIS API for JavaScript , or similar frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of spatial data management, geoprocessing, and spatial analysis techniques .
  • Experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL / PostGIS, SQL Server, or Oracle .
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A passion for clean / green energy and sustainability .

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud .
  • Familiarity with open-source GIS tools and libraries.
  • Knowledge of the energy sector, particularly in areas like renewable energy, utilities, or virtual power plants .
