Role Overview :
We are seeking a Test Automation Lead with deep expertise in Playwright to drive quality engineering in a Shift-Left development environment . The ideal candidate will lead automation strategy, design robust test frameworks, and ensure early and continuous testing across the SDLC. This role demands hands-on leadership, technical excellence, and the ability to work independently without dedicated QA support.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright (JavaScript / TypeScript or C#).
- Champion Shift-Left testing by integrating automated tests early in the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps to embed testing into CI / CD pipelines.
- Define and implement test strategies for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Mentor junior automation engineers and promote best practices in test automation and code quality.
- Analyze test results, identify root causes, and drive continuous improvement in test coverage and reliability.
Required Skills :
Proven experience with Playwright for web automation (TypeScript / JavaScript or C#).Strong understanding of Shift-Left testing , TDD / BDD, and Agile methodologies.Experience with CI / CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).Solid knowledge of REST APIs, browser automation, and cross-browser testing.Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker) and cloud platforms (Azure / AWS).Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with other automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) is a plus.Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6).ISTQB or equivalent certification is a bonus.
