Overview :

Fastenal’s Enterprise Search & Analytics team in designing and evolving scalable, high-performance search solutions using Elasticsearch. You’ll drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure delivery of impactful, secure, and compliant systems.

Key Responsibilities :

Architect and evolve enterprise-wide search platforms.

Lead technical design, code reviews, and mentoring.

Collaborate with business and product teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, GDPR, and internal security standards.

Drive innovation in search relevance, performance, and analytics.

Required Qualifications :

Expertise in specialized areas such as machine learning, natural language processing, text mining, search recommendation systems, computational linguistics.

Experience building real-time data ingestion pipelines using big data / streaming technologies like Kafka, Spark, Hadoop etc.

Experience with semantic search, and hybrid search architectures. Demonstrate strong understanding of bulk indexing, search, schema design, information retrieval and relevance tuning, human (natural) language parsing.

Familiarity with AI / ML models for search enhancement, including OpenAI and NLP-based ranking systems.

Prior experience documenting APIs and building developer-friendly interfaces.

Understanding of Agile SCRUM methodology, test-driven development, and CI / CD practices.

Knowledge of SDLC, version control systems, and modern DevOps practices.

Experience with the following technologies : Java, Spring Boot, Python, PySpark, Azure, Databricks, Terraform, Elasticsearch, OpenAI.
