Node.js + Automation Engineer - Opportunity with Leading UAE Bank

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Node.js Automation Engineer) to join our team and work on exciting projects for a large UAE bank . This is a full-time onsite role requiring you to work from our Chennai Offshore Development Center (ODC) .

Education :

Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).

Experience :

5+ years of experience in full-stack development and automation testing, with strong expertise in Node.js .

At least 1 year of hands-on experience with TypeScript .

Proven experience with Playwright for automation testing (preferred), alongside tools like Cucumber , Appium , or Selenium .

Banking or financial services domain experience is highly preferred .

Technical Skills :

Backend Development : Expertise in building and testing scalable, secure, and high-performing APIs and microservices using Node.js .

Frontend Development : Proficiency with modern frontend technologies like React , Angular , or Vue.js .

Automation Testing : Strong experience in designing and implementing end-to-end test suites using Playwright , with an emphasis on BDD methodologies .

Hands-on experience with GraphQL APIs .

Strong knowledge of CI / CD pipelines and experience troubleshooting distributed service ecosystems.

Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes .

Familiarity with API Gateway integrations (e.g., 3Scale ).

Proficiency in authentication mechanisms, including SSO , JWT , and OAuth .

Knowledge of task / message queues like AWS SQS , Azure Queue , Kafka , or Pushpin .

Functional Skills :

Ability to follow and enforce best practices for coding standards, automation testing, manual testing, security, and documentation .

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and iterative development processes.

Capable of evaluating and implementing new technologies to ensure the adoption of best-in-class solutions.

Soft Skills :

Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and influence technical decisions.

Self-motivated and capable of independently driving projects while working collaboratively with others.

Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with senior stakeholders and executive management.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience working in the banking or financial services sector .

Deep expertise with Playwright as the primary tool for automation testing.

Strong foundation in Node.js development , with a focus on automation and scalability.

Other Responsibilities :

While the primary focus is on automation testing , candidates should be prepared to perform manual testing when required to ensure comprehensive quality assurance.

Availability :

Immediate joiners or candidates with a notice period of up to 30 days are highly preferred.
