Role Overview
The Research Analyst will support the Investment Banking team in deal origination, sector and company analysis, and preparation of transaction collaterals for debt and equity mandates. The role demands strong analytical, financial modeling, and presentation skills with the ability to distill complex data into actionable insights for institutional investors and issuers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Industry & Company Research
- Conduct comprehensive sectoral and company-specific research across industries such as NBFCs, Infrastructure, Renewable Energy, Manufacturing, and Real Estate.
- Track macroeconomic trends, regulatory developments (SEBI, RBI, MCA), and market dynamics affecting capital markets.
- Prepare industry snapshots, benchmarking reports, and periodic market updates for internal and client circulation.
2. Financial Analysis & Modeling
Analyze financial statements to evaluate profitability, leverage, liquidity, and credit metrics (RoE, RoA, NIM, GNPA, gearing, etc.).Build valuation models using DCF, comparables, precedent transactions, and relative multiples.3. Transaction Support
Work on rating rationale comparisons, covenant analysis, and structuring inputs for proposed issuances.4. Market & Investor Intelligence
Track primary and secondary market trends, including bond yields, spreads, and issuer activity.Maintain a database of institutional investors (banks, mutual funds, insurance, AIFs, treasuries) and their investment preferences.Prepare pitch books and investment notes customized for investor outreach and roadshows.5. Reporting & Documentation
Ensure accuracy and completeness of data used in research reports, deal documents, and regulatory submissions.Maintain internal repositories for research data, issuer profiles, and deal comparables.Draft executive summaries and analyst commentaries for internal and client communications.
