Were seeking a skilled Mid-Level Software Engineer with hands-on experience in Angular and a proficiency in test automation . You aim to build robust maintainable front-end applications and apply structured testing strategies to ensure software quality and reliability. This role is based in our Kolkata office operating in a hybrid working model . Youll be part of a globally distributed team spanning Europe India and the US .

Responsibilities

Work on a team to develop and enhance a cloud-native web application that uses AI to turn unstructured documents into structured data

Develop code based on functional specifications and thorough understanding of product code; identify refactoring opportunities and architectural improvements

Write and execute tests (automated and manual) to verify that the code meets technical specifications and functions as intended before submitting it for review

Contribute to standards and processes as applicable to software development methodology including planning work estimation solution demos and reviews

Complete logic and algorithm design in alignment with established standards

Perform moderately complex peer code reviews

Read software requirements and understand impact on design specifications

Contribute to the CI / CD pipeline including test automation performance and security

Understand business application and coding tasks to make data-driven recommendations for internal process improvements and product documentation

Provide troubleshooting support for moderately complex production issues or software code issues to ensure the stability of the application

Stay up to date with latest technology changes and be ready to leverage the latest features

Follow security best practices in all aspects of work

Collaborate with product owners and software architects as needed to refine functional and technical aspects of the software

Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices including but not limited to Hylands Information Systems Security Policy

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

Experience with data structures algorithms and software design

Experience with Angular HTML CSS TypeScript and JavaScript (knowledge of backend languages such as C# is a plus)

Good understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues

Experience working in Windows / Linux development environments with open-source tools / platforms

Experience with build environments and continuous delivery pipelines

Experience with test automation and continuous integration tools

Experience leveraging AI assistants to speed up development

Knowledge of accessibility is a plus

Knowledge of software application testing tools methodologies and process frameworks

Strong verbal and written communication skills with professionalism and discretion

Good collaboration skills applied successfully within team as well as with other areas

Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Self-motivated able to manage projects to completion with oversight

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Attention to detail and eagerness to learn

Passionate competitive and intellectually curious

Quick learner with strong technology curiosity and aptitude

Ability to provide technical and constructive feedback to team members

Up to 10% travel time required
