Role Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support SD-WAN automation initiatives, specifically focusing on migrating existing test frameworks from pyATS to vTest.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in test automation frameworks, deep networking knowledge, and prior experience working with SD-WAN technologies.
The role involves working on automation frameworks, configuration management, system profiling, and Digital Twin (vTest) environments.
The ideal candidate should have solid Python skills, networking knowledge, and hands-on experience in automating SD-WAN test scenarios.
Key Responsibilities :
- Migrate existing automation suites from pyATS framework to vTest. Analyze current pyATS test cases, identify dependencies, and redesign them for vTest compatibility.
- Develop new automated test cases to validate SD-WAN features and upgrade scenarios.
- Perform CPU and Memory profiling of SD-WAN components during automated runs.
- Design, develop, and maintain reusable automation libraries and utilities in Python.
- Debug automation failures, analyze system performance, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
- Work with SD-WAN QA and feature teams to validate across multiple releases and platforms.
- Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and solution architects to integrate automated tests into CI / CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot and debug automation failures, providing root cause analysis and implementing fixes.
- Maintain automation documentation, coding standards, and best practices.
- Collaborate with teams to align on framework adoption and future Skills & Experience :
- 4 to 8 years of experience in test automation and networking domain.
- Strong hands-on expertise with SD-WAN (Viptela) architecture (vManage, vSmart, vBond, cEdge).
- Strong Proficiency in Python scripting and automation frameworks.
- Experience in automation frameworks pyATS, vTest / Digital Twin (preferred).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts routing (OSPF, BGP, RIP,IPsec, QoS, routing policies), VPN, QoS, IPsec, SD-WAN architecture (vManage, vBond, vSmart, cEdge).
- Exposure to traffic generators (IXIA, Spirent) for validation.
- Experience with CI / CD tools (Jenkins, Git, GitLab, Docker, etc.) for automation integration.
- Strong debugging skills in both networking and Python code.
