Sales Engineer - Enterprise

Job description5+ years of working / operational experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, SAP, or similar enterprise databases. Hands-on experience with Data Replication / Integration (CDC) tools. Proficiency in SQL scripting; knowledge of Python / JavaScript and REST API interaction. Experience with modern databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB / MySQL, MongoDB) in on-premise and cloud environments. Working knowledge of major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure). Experience with cloud data warehousing providers (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks) and data lake architectures (Kafka, HDFS, S3, ADLS). Ability to influence technical and business audiences effectively. Passion for data, analytics, and solving business problems using technology. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities :
- Drive pre-sales technical discovery and solutioning discussions with data architects, data engineers, DBAs, systems architects, and other technical professionals.
- Plan, manage, and close technical demonstrations and proof of concept (POC) projects, acting as both subject matter expert and project manager.
- Respond to technical enquiries including Requests for Information (RFIs), Proposals (RFPs), and similar formal documents.
- Enable Fivetran staff, partner teams, and the data engineering community on data concepts, product features, competitive positioning, and best practices through presentations, training, articles, videos, and coaching.
- Provide technical guidance and support to new customers to ensure successful adoption and scale of Fivetran solutions.
- Translate complex technology concepts for both technical and business audiences.
- Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to influence technical strategy and customer outcomes.
