Job Description – Flow-Through (1065 / 1120S) - Manager

Role Summary

Our tech-forward tax practice is seeking an experienced Team Manager to oversee our Flow-Through Tax team, focused on preparing and reviewing complex partnership (1065) and S corporation (1120S) returns. This leader will be responsible for ensuring technical accuracy, workflow efficiency, and on-time delivery of high-quality work for venture-backed tech startups, investment funds, and high-net-worth individuals. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant experience and a passion for building strong teams and scalable processes.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end tax compliance process for flow-through entities, including preparation, review, and filing of Forms 1065 and 1120S.

Oversee and mentor a team of 3–6 tax professionals, providing technical guidance, training, and performance feedback.

Coordinate workflow planning, resource allocation, and deadlines to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.

Implement and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to drive consistency, quality, and audit readiness.

Collaborate with client leads and internal stakeholders to align tax deliverables with client needs and expectations.

Maintain deep technical knowledge of partnership allocations, basis tracking, K-1 reporting, and multi-state filings.

Identify process improvements, technology enhancements, and automation opportunities to increase team productivity.

Ideal Candidate Profile

10+ years of experience in flow-through entity taxation, with a focus on complex partnership and S corp returns.

Strong leadership skills with prior experience managing and mentoring a tax team.

Technical expertise in partnership allocations, basis calculations, multi-state issues, and Schedule K-1 reporting.

Familiarity with tax issues specific to venture-backed companies, investment funds, and startups.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, tech-forward environment with shifting priorities.

CPA or EA required; MST or MBA preferred.
