We are seeking a talented individual to join our Global Data Team at Mercer. This role will be based in Mumbai / Pune. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Associate Director – Investments Management (Investments Data)
We will count on you to :
- Drive the delivery and operational support for investment data management initiatives
- Engage closely with key stakeholders across investment teams, data solutions, technology, and vendors to support maintenance and sustenance of investment data support needs
- Develop a thorough understanding of the investment data solutions and platforms implemented, across the asset classes including exchange traded, derivative and private instruments
- Collaborate with data solutions leadership to define SLAs and support protocols specific to investment data
- Develop detailed understanding of investment processes, data flows, and data models implemented by Enterprise Architecture and Investment Data solution teams, and design support procedures to effectively support post go-live
- Ensure there is detailed support documentation that aligns closely with investment business requirements, data mappings, dependencies, data definitions, specifications, and business processes including investment data flows
- Build, manage, lead, and grow a dedicated high-performance investment data support team
- Develop and implement scalable investment data support capabilities with a metrics-driven operations model, ensuring adherence to data ownership, quality, accuracy, and timeliness principles
- Manage stakeholder expectations through effective project management and ensure timely delivery of investment data support solutions
- Support and influence the development of Mercer’s overall investment data delivery strategy with insights gained from support metrics
What you need to have :
10+ years of experience working directly in the finance industry in an investment data support role, such as at an Investment Manager, Wealth Manager, or a vendor providing services to the buy-sideExtensive experience leading investment data support teams managing core foundational investment data domains, including team building, organizational development, process management, vendor management, SLA oversight, and metrics-driven support deliveryProven track record in growing and leading data support teams, preferably with expertise in master data management and / or investment reference data managementExperience driving adoption of standardized processes, templates, and best practices by investment data support requesting teamsStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with investment business stakeholders at all organizational levelsThought leadership in designing investment data support capabilities across front-office, middle-office, and back-office investment and asset management workflowsHands-on experience managing data pipelines for diverse financial market data sets across multiple asset classes including alternativesFamiliarity with investment data governance principles, including metadata management and data quality assurance specific to investment dataSolid conceptual understanding of investment management processes, financial markets, custodial services, investment operational data requirements, and portfolio management reporting and monitoringDemonstrated knowledge of front, middle, and back-office functions within investment management, wealth management, or asset management industriesExperience integrating disparate investment data ecosystems, data models, and data pipelines to support complex business workflowsProven ability to manage and balance stakeholder expectations in an investment data contextStrong analytical skills with proficiency in tools such as Excel, Vision, PowerPoint, and Word for investment data analysis and reportingProficiency in SQL, relational database management systems (RDBMS), data modeling, data extraction and analysis of both structured and unstructured investment data.Experience with Asset Management and Fund Operations applications and a deep understanding of its capabilities is highly desirableWhat makes you stand out?
