Summary
The Website Manager owns the performance, reliability, and evolution of GITAM’s Drupal website. The role requires marketing judgment, operational discipline, and strong technical capability. The manager oversees end-to-end website operations, drives content and UX improvements, manages decentralised contributors, and coordinates with developers to ensure a stable and scalable platform. This is a hands-on role with direct responsibility for content, quality, structure, and stakeholder alignment.
Core Responsibilities
1. Website Operations Management
- Manage the Drupal ecosystem, including structures, templates, workflows, permissions, taxonomies, and configurations.
- Resolve functional issues or coordinate with developers for fixes.
- Maintain uptime, site speed, mobile readiness, and stable integrations.
- Oversee release cycles, QA, and documentation.
- Improve operational efficiency through automation where feasible.
2. Content Governance and Development
Maintain governance across a decentralized content environment.Review, refine, and publish content.Ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with marketing priorities to maintain a cohesive brand image.Identify content gaps and drive the creation of new content.Establish standards and enforce adherence across departments.Develop high-quality top-funnel content formats, including a structured blog, student narratives, peer-to-peer features, and ongoing content series that keep the website dynamic and relevant.Create repeatable content processes that ensure the site remains active rather than static.3. Stakeholder and Contributor Management
Engage academic, admissions, marketing, alumni, and administrative units to understand needs and translate them into updates.Train decentralised contributors on Drupal and workflow processes.Build a structured content and operations cadence across teams.Maintain accountability and clarity on roles, responsibilities, and approvals.4. UX and Experience Improvement
Collaborate with UI and UX teams to enhance navigation, workflows, and design coherence.Utilise analytics to pinpoint areas of friction and suggest targeted enhancements.Ensure that layouts and templates support clear content and user goals.5. Technical Coordination
Translate business requirements into clear briefs for developers.Prioritise backlogs and enhancements based on impact.Validate deliverables through structured UAT.Ensure adherence to SLAs and quality standards.6. SEO Alignment
Partner with the SEO lead to align structure, metadata, content, and indexing.Maintain clean information architecture that supports discoverability.Ensure landing pages reinforce campaigns and admissions objectives.7. Continuous Improvement and Roadmap Execution
Treat the website as an active product with regular enhancements.Maintain a roadmap covering stability, UX, content, and capability upgrades.Drive disciplined execution with measurable outcomes.Required Skills and Experience
7 to 10 years in website operations, digital content, or digital product management.Hands-on experience with Drupal.Strong understanding of content structure, UX basics, and SEO fundamentals.Ability to write and refine content.Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, tagging, and analytics setup.Experience coordinating with technical teams and external vendors.Strong stakeholder management across decentralized environments.Capability to design processes and train contributors.Candidate Profile
