We partner with leading hospital systems to deploy automation agents that transform backend workflows, improving accuracy, speed, and outcomes in revenue cycle management.We are entering a key growth phase with real customers, revenue, and product momentum. We are now hiring a Founding Head of Engineering to lead our technical direction and platform execution. This is a hands-on leadership role.What you’ll do- Own the architecture and development of our agentic AI platform- Design scalable, reliable backend infrastructure that powers automation workflows- Lead and mentor a high-performing, distributed engineering team- Collaborate closely with product, operations, and implementation teams to deliver into real-world hospital environments- Drive technical execution across short-term priorities and long-term strategic initiatives- Operate with a startup mentality — high autonomy, high responsibility, and a bias toward shipping- Contribute to company-wide decisions as a core member of the leadership teamRequirements- 7–10 years of experience in backend, platform, or systems engineering- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred or equivalent real-world experience)- Deep experience with Python or comparable backend languages in production environments- Proven track record designing and scaling complex systems and APIs- Experience leading engineering teams or projects with high accountability and ownership- Familiarity with data pipelines, distributed systems, and workflow orchestration- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make architecture decisions under ambiguity- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams- Startup experience or mindset — adaptable, resourceful, and focused on outcomes- Preferred : background in automation, agent-based systems, healthcare technology, or AI / ML infrastructureWhy join us- Build a foundational AI product solving real operational problems in healthcare- Join at a critical inflection point with product-market fit and real momentum- Step into a founding-level role with strong equity and a clear package.- Define the engineering culture, processes, and architecture from the ground up- Work with a small, high-ownership team focused on execution and impact- Fully remote with flexibility and autonomyDiversity, equity, and inclusionGabeo.ai is an equal opportunity employer.
