Experience Required : 15+ years

Industry : Insurance / Big 4 and CA Firm (But should have worked for Life insurance)

Education : Chartered Accountant (CA)

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished and forward-looking Vice President – Taxation to lead and manage the complete tax function for our organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in both Direct and Indirect Taxation, combined with a strong understanding of the Insurance / Services industry. The role demands a leader who can provide strategic direction, ensure compliance, and drive value through effective tax planning and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

Direct & Indirect Tax Management

Oversee all aspects of Direct Tax (Corporate Tax, MAT, TDS, Transfer Pricing, International Taxation).
Lead Indirect Tax management including GST, Service Tax, Customs, and Excise where applicable.
Ensure accurate and timely compliance with tax filings, assessments, and audits.

Strategic Tax Planning & Advisory

Develop and implement tax-efficient structures, policies, and strategies aligned with business objectives.

Advise leadership on the impact of changing tax laws and regulatory updates.

Evaluate cross-border taxation issues and advise on international tax implications.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

Liaise with regulatory authorities, statutory bodies, and external auditors.

Handle tax litigations, assessments, and represent the company before tax authorities.

Mitigate tax risks through proactive monitoring and strong internal controls.

Business Partnership

Work closely with Finance, Legal, Risk, and Business teams to support new initiatives and transactions.

Provide tax inputs on mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, and new business models.

Partner with senior management to align tax strategies with organizational growth.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing taxation team.

Build capabilities in tax technology and automation for better compliance and reporting.

Key Requirements

Chartered Accountant (CA) with strong academic and professional background.

15+ years of experience in taxation with significant exposure to both Direct and Indirect Taxation.

Prior experience in a CA firm or Insurance / Service domain is highly preferred.

Strong track record of handling complex tax structures, compliance, and litigation.

Excellent understanding of Indian tax laws, Insurance sector regulations, and global tax frameworks.

Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.

Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
