Location : Pune

Role Overview

As the MuleSoft Architect, you will be responsible for defining and driving the architecture, governance, and delivery of our MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and related integration infrastructure. You will partner with business, architecture, DevOps, and product teams to design scalable, secure, and high-performance integration solutions supporting our global operations. You will set standards and guardrails, build re-usable frameworks, and mentor teams to adopt API-led connectivity and event-driven patterns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the architecture of the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (APIs, runtime fabrics, hybrid deployments), including standards, guardrails, best practices and governance.
  • Design integration solutions (APIs, microservices, batch, event-driven flows) aligning with enterprise architecture, business needs and technology roadmap.
  • Lead technical design authority (TDA) activities : review proposed designs, assess risks, ensure compliance with architecture and integration principles.
  • Develop and deliver integration frameworks, templates, reusable assets, connectors and accelerators to improve developer productivity and time-to-market.
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps, Platform Engineering and Cloud teams to define deployment models, CI / CD pipelines, environment strategy, security and observability.
  • Lead efforts in API lifecycle management : design, manage, version, secure, monitor and retire APIs using MuleSoft API Manager and associated tooling.
  • Mentor and lead integration developers and architects;

foster a culture of reuse, excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Communicate architecture, roadmap, technical strategy and integration vision to senior stakeholders, cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Stay abreast of technology trends (cloud, containers, Kubernetes, iPaaS, event-streams) and evaluate their relevance to our integration ecosystem.
  • Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
  • Typically, 7+ years (or more) of application & data integration experience, with 3+ years in an architect role within enterprise integration platforms.
  • Extensive, hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (API Designer, API Manager, Studio, Runtime Fabric) and iPaaS / hybrid integration patterns.
  • Accredited MuleSoft certifications such as MCD (MuleSoft Certified Developer), MCIA (MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect) or MCPA (MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect) preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with API design (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML), RAML / OpenAPI / AsyncAPI / GraphQL, microservices architecture, event-driven design (pub / sub), messaging and batch integration.
  • Familiarity with containerization and cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS / Azure / GCP) and automation of platform deployment / service management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
  • able to translate complex technical concepts to business / IT leadership.

  • Proven ability to drive architectural governance, build reusable technical artefacts, set direction and lead technical teams.
  • Desired / “Nice to Have”

  • Previous experience in a regulated environment (pharma / life sciences).
  • Knowledge of SOLACE or other event-broker technologies, batch / data integration tools, B2B / EDI integrations.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible), monitoring / logging frameworks.
  • Experience integrating with systems such as SAP, Salesforce, etc.
  • Experience in agile delivery environments and federated teams.
