Role : Digital Network - Administrator
Role Responsibilities :
- Oversee the management and execution of network technology initiatives, ensuring successful technology rollouts and team readiness.
- Troubleshoot network issues, referring to KEDBs and knowledge bases to resolve known or repetitive issues.
- Provide escalated support to end-users on ICT issues and requests, such as hardware, software, network, and cloud services.
- Install, configure, and update infrastructure systems and services.
- Monitor and maintain the performance and security of systems and services.
- Assist with the implementation and testing of new solutions and upgrades.
- Document and update procedures, policies, and manuals, and maintain accurate records of assets and inventory.
- Participate in regularly scheduled after-hours monthly maintenance windows to perform system firmware / software patching and / or infrastructure updates that requires system downtime outside of business hours.
- Provide support to other regional locations of the company as required, which may also include a time-shift of working hours to accommodate.
- Escalate unresolved issues to L3 Network SMEs, supporting the process and coordinating with third-party vendors when necessary.
- Ensure process compliance by tracking and updating tickets, preparing shift handover reports, and maintaining SLA adherence.
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime.
- Configure and manage VPNs, LANs, and WANs.
- Perform regular network assessments and security audits.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to optimize network resources and improve efficiency.
- Document network configurations, changes, and procedures.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users regarding network-related issues.
Skills :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.5-15 years of experience in network administration or related role.Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).Experience with network security measures and tools (firewalls, intrusion detection systems).Proficiency in configuring and managing routing and switching devices.Job Requirements :
B.Sc in Chemistry or related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.Certifications like CCNA, F5 Certified Admin, Riverbed RCSA-W, ZIA Admin, or Prisma SD-WAN are desirable.Proficiency in network administration, security management, WAN optimization, and troubleshooting.Strong communication and process management skills for effective coordination with vendors and internal teams.(ref : hirist.tech)
