Cloud Infrastructure Engineer II

About the role

We are hiring a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in Hyderabad to own the secure, compliant, and automated infrastructure that powers Swiss Re’s shared business services on Alibaba Cloud. These services include regulated platforms such as identity and access management, anti-money laundering, document management, and Spring Boot-based applications.

You will be responsible for building and operating production-grade cloud infrastructure using Terraform, YAML-based Azure DevOps pipelines, and scripting in Python and Shell. Your role includes embedding security and compliance controls into infrastructure code, supporting disaster recovery readiness, and ensuring the platform scales reliably across multiple environments.

You will collaborate closely with development teams, especially those delivering Java / Spring Boot and React applications, to ensure infrastructure is fit-for-purpose, auditable, and aligned to business delivery objectives. This includes supporting vulnerability remediation workflows, such as patching of runtime environments, dependency updates, and securing build and deployment flows.

This is a hands-on engineering role with high accountability for execution, automation, and platform reliability.

Main responsibilities :

• Own the build and operation of secure, compliant, and reusable infrastructure on Alibaba Cloud for production-grade services.
• Enforce performance, security, and audit compliance baselines through Terraform modules and automation pipelines.
• Deliver hardened infrastructure that meets regulated workload requirements including uptime, patching SLAs and audit readiness. You will automate deployments, patching, access controls, and upgrades using Azure DevOps pipelines and scripting. You will help with runtime patching and dependency updates across environments. Define / refine and help implement the business continuity solution – backup, disaster recovery (DR) process and DR solution. You will support platform design reviews, provide architecture input, and prepare infrastructure for external and internal audits. You will contribute to cross-cloud consistency by aligning Alibaba-first infrastructure with Azure-hosted service dependencies. Participate in post-incident reviews and enforce infra-level corrective actions.

About the team

The Cloud Platform Shared Service team is part of the Swiss Re's Public Cloud Transformation organization that focuses on developing and managing a secure, compliant, and standardized cloud services and capabilities on Alibaba Cloud to support business units across Swiss Re. We'd like to welcome a team member who will be instrumental in building and enhancing the Alibaba Cloud Platform.

About you

We are happy to meet you if you possess :

5+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience, including infrastructure design and delivery in production. Strong expertise with public cloud (Azure / Alibaba / AWS). Secure network design, IAM, and encryption services. Proven delivery with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. Experience building deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps using YAML, scripting with Python and Shell. Ability to automate patching, enforce compliance baselines, and maintain secure, audit-ready infrastructure. Familiarity with Java / Spring Boot and React applications, capable of supporting secure builds and runtime deployments. Strong execution mindset, stakeholder engagement skills, and ability to operate across teams in regulated enterprise environments.Interested in this new challenge?
