JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of applications built on the Pega platform. The Senior System Architect translates requirements into working application components, ensuring high quality, adherence to guardrails, and alignment with enterprise standards. This role supports the broader transition to in-house ownership of the Pega environment and collaborates closely with solution architects, business analysts, QA testers, and DevOps engineers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop enterprise Pega applications including case types, flows, data pages, UI components, and business rules.
- Collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into functional, scalable application features.
- Participate in design and technical review sessions with the Lead System Architect and engineering team.
- Implement REST / SOAP integrations, configure connectors, and handle integration errors gracefully.
- Build modular and reusable rulesets, troubleshoot rule resolution issues, and apply effective version control practices.
- Perform unit testing, troubleshoot using Clipboard, Tracer, Logs, and support QA defect resolution.
- Support application deployment across multiple environments and follow CI / CD practices as required.
- Assist with environment configuration, rule packaging, and deployment preparation activities.
- Support knowledge transfer and help accelerate the capability uplift of internal teams transitioning from vendor-led development.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint commitments and estimations.
- Mentor junior developers in Pega rule implementation and platform navigation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Strong knowledge of Pega development lifecycle, including guardrails, rule resolution, and reuse best practices.Hands-on experience developing with the Pega Customer Service framework.Experience configuring SLAs, correspondence rules, and report definitions.Working knowledge of Pega Customer Service interaction flows and PCS product modeling is a plus.Proficient in configuring service connectors, case types, data integrations, and user interface rules.Proficient in using Dev Studio, App Studio, and debugging tools including Tracer, Clipboard, and Performance Analyzer.Familiar with Agile practices, including sprint planning, story estimation, and peer reviews.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Experience in regulated industries such as Healthcare or Insurance is preferred.EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Bachelor's Degree required.Minimum of 4 years of experience developing enterprise-grade applications using the Pega PRPC platform.Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) certification required.Other Competencies
