ETP Operator manages and monitors an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to treat wastewater, ensuring it meets environmental standards through operational control, equipment maintenance, and chemical dosing. Key duties include collecting water samples for analysis, adjusting treatment processes, performing routine maintenance on ETP equipment, and maintaining detailed operational logs and records. The role requires vigilance to prevent overflows, ensure equipment efficiency, and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the plant area.

Core Responsibilities

ETP Operations : Operate and monitor the entire ETP system to ensure effective treatment of industrial or municipal wastewater.

Process Control : Log, monitor, and control the treatment process according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain desired water parameters.

Chemical Handling : Prepare and add necessary chemicals (e.g., coagulants) for different stages of the treatment process and ensure their proper dosage.

Equipment Monitoring : Oversee and control mechanical processes like screening, sedimentation, aeration, and filter presses.

Water Quality Monitoring : Collect samples and perform regular water quality tests to ensure the final treated water meets required standards before discharge.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting : Perform routine maintenance on pumps, blowers, filters, and other equipment, and identify and address operational issues and system malfunctions.

Key Skills and Qualifications

Technical Knowledge : Understanding of ETP processes (pre-treatment, primary, secondary), including related equipment like pumps, blowers, and filtration systems.

Analytical Skills : Ability to conduct water quality tests and analyze data to ensure process efficiency.

Record Keeping : Meticulous maintenance of log sheets, maintenance records, and other documentation.

Safety Awareness : Knowledge of and strict adherence to safety systems and practices within the plant.

Problem-Solving : Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and system deviations.

Required Traits

Alertness : Staying vigilant and aware of plant operations to prevent issues.

Adaptability : Openness to learning new skills and gaining knowledge about ETP operations.
