Senior Azure Cloud Engineer

About the Role

CheckRed is seeking a skilled and experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Azure services, including Azure Virtual Desktop, MDM, Intune, Azure Backup, and PowerShell scripting. As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our client’s Azure-based infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead design, deployment, and maintenance of Microsoft Azure environments, including Azure Virtual Desktop.

Troubleshoot and support Intune / MDM enrollment and provisioning at scale.

Drive automation of deployments and administration tasks using PowerShell, ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform, and CLI.

Build and maintain CI / CD pipelines, integrating DevOps practices into cloud operations.

Monitor, tune, and optimize resources to improve efficiency and reduce cost.

Implement and enforce enterprise security controls with Defender, Sentinel, Purview, and Azure AD.

Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to align infrastructure with business needs.

Document architectures, configurations, and best practices for knowledge sharing.

Mentor junior engineers and guide the team on DevOps and automation best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent work experience.

10+ years of overall IT / cloud engineering experience.

5+ years of hands-on Azure experience (design, deployment, and management).

5+ years of DevOps / automation experience.

Azure Architecture and / or Security certifications (preferred).

Expert-level knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation frameworks.

Hands-on experience with CI / CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).

Strong background in Azure Active Directory, identity, and access management.

Proven experience implementing secure, scalable cloud architectures.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
