Job Description – Modular Furniture Line Manager
Position : Line Manager – Modular Furniture (Factory)
Reports to : General Manager
Location - Nehroli, Mumbai
Department : Production (Board / Modular Furniture – Office Furniture dominant)
Compensation : ₹1.2 lakhs per month
Working Hours : 8 AM – 6 PM
Role Mission
Own end‑to‑end delivery of the modular furniture line—from design validation and DFM to first‑article approval, mass production, quality control, on‑time dispatch, and snag closure—with tight daily reporting and zero‑surprise execution.
️ Scope of Control
- Processes : Beam saw → Edge banding → Drilling / Routing → Hot / Cold Press → Subassembly → Final assembly → Packing → QC → Dispatch
- Products : Workstations, desks, storage, partitions, meeting tables, pedestals, office panels
- Teams : Line supervisors, operators, helpers, in‑process QC, packers (all shifts)
Key Responsibilities
Design & DFM Validation : Verify fit, form, function, hardware specs, panel sizes, EB thickness, drilling coordinates. Approve BOM, routing, golden sample, and FAI.Industrialization & Change Control : Freeze process plans, fixtures / jigs, drill programs, EB settings. Maintain ECO discipline and version control.Production Planning : Convert sales / dispatch plan into weekly & daily schedules. Balance machine loads, ensure >85% uptime and takt adherence.
Quality Control : Define in‑process checkpoints, enforce spec sheets, close NCRs within SLA, drive CAPA, ensure packing integrity.People Management : Upskill operators, manage overtime, enforce 5S + safety, conduct weekly audits.Reporting :Daily : output vs plan, RFT, rework / rejects, downtime, shortages, NCR / CAPA statusWeekly : OEE, productivity, yield, cost variance, on‑time dispatch %, open snags list with ETASnag Management : Maintain snag register, assign owners / ETAs, close site feedback ≤ 5 days, run root‑cause reviews.Maintenance & Tooling : Execute PM calendar, maintain spares / tooling logs, escalate breakdowns, protect schedule with alternate routing.✅ Must‑Have Skills & Experience
8–12 years in modular / office furniture (board)Strong in DFM, cutlists, routing, fixtures / jigs, tolerance managementProven production planning & line balancing; OEE / OLE, yield improvementExpert in in‑process QC, FAI, NCR / CAPA, packaging QALeadership : builds discipline, escalates early, communicates crisplyRegards,
