Assistant Purchasing Manager

Role & responsibilities :

Implement best practice of purchasing, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance.

Ensure and align with business objectives, operational needs, and market competitiveness.

Manage supplier selection and evaluation processes, including terms and conditions, supplier rationalization, and purchasing solutions.

Mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities through proactive evaluation of business challenges.

To follow the purchasing policy, guidelines, and associated documents.

Initiate and innovate procurement processes, including eProcurement of steel and other consumables.

Have considerable knowledge of Sourcing of Steel (Plates, Sheets, Sections) and various other associated sourcing of heavy engineering consumables.

Have a track record of exceptional collaborative relationships with suppliers, contractors and colleagues.

Desired Qualification & Experience :

B. Tech / B.E. in Mechanical engineer with over 5-10 years of work experience in procurement, logistics and exports in a manufacturing industry.

Experience in Freight Car Manufacturing / Wagon Industry is necessary.

MBA (Full Time) in supply chain management is desirable.

In addition to good knowledge of English, we also look for skills such as technical curiosity, creativity, innovation, initiative, communication, leadership and the ability to work with others.

5-10 Years of experience of Freight Car Manufacturing / Wagon Industry is necessary.
