Job Description

Key Responsibilities

3-4 years exp into Alation DQ Tool exp

Data Catalog Management : Use Alation to create, maintain, and optimize data catalogs, ensuring metadata accuracy and accessibility.

Data Quality Frameworks : Design and implement scalable data quality frameworks using Alation’s trust flags, stewardship workflows, and policy enforcement.

Collaboration : Work with data stewards, analysts, and engineering teams to define and enforce data governance policies.

Data Profiling & Lineage : Analyze datasets for completeness, consistency, and lineage using Alation’s profiling tools.

Documentation & Standards : Establish and maintain documentation for data definitions, quality rules, and business glossaries.

Monitoring & Reporting : Develop dashboards and reports to monitor data quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement.

Training & Enablement : Educate teams on Alation usage, data governance best practices, and data quality standards.

Required Skills

Hands-on experience with Alation Data Catalog

Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage

Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for data analysis

Familiarity with ETL / ELT pipelines and modern data stack tools (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift)

Experience with data quality tools and frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations, Monte Carlo, Bigeye)

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
